Tying the .40 Cal Sculpin

Lately I have been tying some pretty ugly bugs for this coming summer, and this has been on of my favorites, its the “.40 Cal Sculpin.” The name is really just because of the fact that if it hits you (in the back of the head) your are going down. Just like a round from my little friend i like to keep close by.

This is my first try at a fly tying vid so gimme some wiggle room…..

  • Hook: Trailer is a Gamakatsu SL11-3H Sz4, the shank is the Fish Skull 35mm articulated shank
  • Tail: Two tone olive rabbit strip, white cross cut rabbit, olive crystal flash and black medium round rubber
  • Fore-end: Two tone olive cross cut rabbit strip, olive crystal flash, black medium round rubber
  • Head: Small Olive Fish Skull Sculpin Helmet, fished with a thread dam and a a coat of Clear Cure Good Hydro and a coat of Sallys Hard as Nails

Thanks for watching!
