Keeping it Local 4.0

Lately the game plan has been exploring new waters. Here in El Dorado County we are incredibly fortunate to have a massive amount of water. Most of it holds trout. Some of it holds big trout.

Over the past few seasons I have gotten extremely familiar with a few specific areas, and have committed myself to branching out and learning new areas.

Every new place I trek into, it never fails to amaze me that there are wild willing fish in almost every creek. They are usually more than willing to eat whatever you offer.

Lately big bugs have been on the menu in the form if golden stones and salmon flies. Pretty cool seeing fish come up to the big bugs.

With the heat coming and very little snowpack in the hills, now is the time. We may have an early and quick season out here.

Get out. Explore. Go somewhere new.

Who knows what’s around the next bend.
